About MetricRegistry
The single source of truth for UK regulatory metric definitions. Built to make AI safe for regulated industries.
Our Mission
Regulated industries are adopting AI at pace, but every large language model hallucinates. When the output is a capital adequacy ratio, an NHS waiting time target, or a carbon emissions formula, hallucination is not a quirk -- it is a compliance risk.
MetricRegistry exists to solve this problem. We crawl primary regulatory sources, extract metric definitions with full provenance, and serve them through a structured API that AI agents can query in real time.
The result: your AI stack can look up the exact formula for CET1 ratio, the NHS 18-week RTT target, or Scope 1 emissions calculation -- and cite the regulatory source document that defines it.
Core Principles
Regulatory Accuracy First
Every metric definition is traced to a primary regulatory source. We never approximate or paraphrase formulas.
Full Transparency
Provenance chains, source excerpts, and certification decisions are all publicly visible. No black boxes.
Privacy Invariant
MetricRegistry contains only public regulatory definitions. No customer data, no PII, no proprietary information ever enters the registry.
Community Governance
Domain experts review and certify metrics through an open validator programme. No single entity controls the truth.
What MetricRegistry Covers
Banking
Capital adequacy (CET1, Tier 1, Total Capital), liquidity (LCR, NSFR), credit risk (NPL, ECL, coverage ratios), P&L performance (ROE, ROA, NIM, cost-to-income), and regulatory reporting metrics. Sources include CRR, PRA Rulebook, and Basel III standards.
Healthcare
NHS waiting times (RTT 18-week, A&E 4-hour, cancer targets), capacity (bed occupancy, discharge rates), quality and safety (mortality, readmission, never events), workforce (vacancy, sickness, agency spend), and finance (cost per WAU, reference costs). Sources include NHS Data Dictionary, CQC, and NICE.
ESG
Carbon and energy (Scope 1/2/3, renewable percentage, intensity ratios), climate risk (TCFD alignment, physical risk scores), social governance (gender pay gap, board diversity, living wage), and industry overlays (financed emissions, portfolio alignment). Sources include GRI, TCFD, PCAF, and GHG Protocol.
Privacy Invariant
MetricRegistry is a registry of public regulatory definitions. It does not store, process, or transmit any customer data, personally identifiable information, or proprietary financial figures. The only data in the registry is the regulatory definition itself -- formulas, source references, and provenance metadata derived entirely from publicly available regulatory documents.
Team
MetricRegistry is built by a team with experience in regulatory technology, data engineering, and AI safety. We are based in the UK and focused exclusively on making regulatory data accessible and machine-readable.
